    Price of outfitted hunts

Outfitters will always have a place with hunters. They provide a valuable service for folks who don't live in the thick of it. Prices - with inflation the way it is, of course they have to go up. With the number of guys wanting to go - same thing. Make hay while the sun shines.

Corner crossing...off to federal court we go.

That's good. It removes the local politics from the case.

    Fresh Water Ponds

We have mosquito fish of some sorts down here - they are everywhere. If it rains and an area floods, often the fish are there. No idea what they do during dry spells. Where I'm going is that the little guys are tough. That's all i know.

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

I had read similar findings but it doesnt make sense. CWD affects both bucks and does, doesnt it?

WGFD license proposals 2022, big cuts to Antelope.

If the critters are down, cut the doe tags - all of em. Shooting does is population reduction - say to keep the winter range from being overrun. With the decline of the animals, does should become protected. Such a simple solution. As for NR's having meltdowns - happens about the same as Rs...

    Any gardeners on here?

We have self-watering pots, felt bags, plastic corrugated culverts in 8-12-and 36 inch diameter cut to about 16-18 inches long, and various other things that hold dirt and plants. Used to have a hydroponics set-up, still have it and that works great - just need an appetite for lettuce...

    Any gardeners on here?

We do some gardening down here, need to plant in September for a January harvest and in January for a May harvest. After May the bugs are incredible - Wake up and look out to see green sticks where leaves once were with horn worms, or everything laying flat & dead with cut worms. Mainly my...

    .243 Bullet Question

I received a response from Sierra: Hi, Are you guys going to continue the 100 gr Pro Hunter in .243? ... Will you-all be releasing some anytime soon? Thanks, Rich M Of course we will but it will take some time. I don’t have a date to quote you but we are starting to make hunting bullets...

    .243 Bullet Question

That's really neat - thanks! Only 1 of the bullets is barely stable at 1.5 (95 classic hunter), the others are saying marginally stable. Signed up for a handful of notifications: Gonna need powder if working up a load - that buys me some time for SPS or others to get some inventory. We'll...

    .243 Bullet Question

Thanks, Buzz. I keep forgetting about SPS. Signed up for notifications. Thanks - I never considered the Bergers, not familiar with them and for whatever reason had considered them a longer bullet and not suitable for Remington factory twist. Same for the ELD-X bullet. Could be wrong...

    .243 Bullet Question

Now that we have reservations for a 2023 antelope hunt, I've got an excuse to get some more powder and go burn it, but sadly, my .243 bullet selection is weak. Rifle is a 1:9 Remington 770. Leica ER 2-10x44 on there. most .243 reloading bullets are not available. Sierra isnt making the...

The Curious Case of Idaho’s Disappearing Deer & Elk

I'm not big on having too many alpha predators - the generations before us had more common sense that wasn't cloudy with fantasy-isms from watching Disney as kids and learning that animals are just people in little fur coats from the liberal teachers. Wolves, big bears, etc. were killed off for...

    2022 Fishing thread

That striped yellow fish is cool looking. Sister got about 22 inch snook the other day. Also managed a skate, some snapper, sheephead, mackerel, bluefish, and of course like 1,000 hardhead catfish.

    Travel/Rescue Insurance For Adventure Hunts

Scott - do they have a life insurance rider to go along with the policy? Might be another good thing. I want to say we had that on our trip as well as the travel & health insurance.
