I'd go give 'er heck, and hope everyone else is discouraged because of the drought. Totally get you burned 19 points and will likely never get to hunt that area again, but in the same turn life can through you a curveball and points or no points you might not have this opportunity again.

I've got 3 pair of higher end glass all in 10x42, Maven B.1 are the best of the 3. Definitely get good binos before worrying about a spotter.

I always carry a very nice pair of 10x42. Only time my spotter leaves the truck is during scouting time and if i don't have a rifle on my pack, because I'm helping my son or a buddy out. I have heard a lot of guys really liking the 15X on a tripod as a meet in the middle.

Buddy from our of state was here with a deer tag the first week of October. We just kept changing it up and going different directions everyday till we found a good one. If you get snow tonight like their calling for, that'll definitely change things!
