I have a garmin striker 9 w side view. Side scan is great ehen looking for structure. Cant see the screen in the sun either or with shades on…. It will show a dropping sinker. get something with a navigation feature so you can see your tracks.

Anyelope hunting is easy. Big wide open, see critters about everywhere if they are there to be seen. then you get to figure out how to get in range, the eyes are amazing. 80% public and not trying to set a world record. You’re gonna have fun. Dont shoot the first one unless you want to.

You guys got WaWa? They recently moved in down here and have ethanol free.

I use rhe ethanol stuff in. Boat motors and lawn mowers and generator. Keep threatening to go e-free in the generator.

I use gas lawn mower but like electric and battery power yard tools. Use it once a year and it works. Malkards, i know you use your stuff a lot more than that.

I dont think you missed anything by not hunting while you were down here.

Okay, things turned to the better Have ML and Rifle permits. Each is 3 days, allowed 1 guest, 2 buck limit - 10 inch main beam or 3 pts minimum. So we have 2 weekend hunts.

They are doing the draws right now - So far no gator tag, no archery deer, no wild hog, Hang tight - another 5 or 6 applications to follow.

Plane ticket for me. Maybe a soft sided cooler for carrying meat on the plane. I had geared up in 2017 and everything seems to be in good shape.

we need more good role models. Too many guys are afraid of the dark on backcountry hunts, dont know their effective range, and overall unprepared.

They made their bed, let them sleep in it. i see nothing wrong w a nominal trespass fee but you’d think they were opening Heaven’s gates at the rates most want. the hunting public is also partially to blame - tear stuff up, leave gates open, etc. no winners here.

Rokslide just had a cold bore challenge. You shoot 1 shot at your perceivedvmax effective range and then another day do the same, no practice in between. most guys couldnt hit a 10-inch target at what they said was their effective range. The hooplah didnt measure out into kill shots. i...
