Well written Jaden Bales. Who was the vote in favor of bonus points, 90/10, and outfitter set asides? That's crazy anyone could vote in favor of those proposals with such a large majority commenting against it.

I want to thank everyone who commented, especially the residents who voted against the outfitter welfare. At 96.1% comments against it, maybe that proposal is finally dead!

You have the head of WYOGA on the task force, pushing for an outfitter draw, then he sends emails to his client list asking them to send task force comments in favor of that outfitter draw. Anybody can see the conflict, but not the co-chairs of the task force. It's a clown show at best.

If anyone believes that the task force dropping 90-10 means its over, hasn't been paying attention.

Its a legislative issue no matter what the task force decides. Meaning that bills will continue to be tried to push 90-10, its not going away.

With 90-10 for the big-5 passing, its likely going to make things easier to pass it for deer, elk and pronghorn.

Also the biggest thing thing not mentioned in the article is the task force making a recommendation to increase NR fees on the special side of the draw (it was mentioned to increase them by 50%) An example would be increasing the special fee pronghorn from $600 to $900. NR special elk would be $1800ish. Also mentioned was increasing point fees for deer, elk, and pronghorn.

Also, there's a good chance that WOGA may run an outfitter set aside bill as well.

The task force isn't the be-all, end-all, all they've done is make recommendations they have no authority to change anything.

Thanks, Buzz

still running with the exit strategy.

No real desire to invest the time and energy and $$$$ into following all the various anti-NR proposals, rate increases, and ideas in the western states. Let the younger guys ride that emotional rollercoaster.

That’s what I was guessing, proponents of 90/10 will take it straight to the legislature.

I know this has been beaten to death but with the recommendation of increasing antelope and deer to $1200 and elk to around $2000, there is now a push to increase the special license percentage from the current 40% of NR licenses to 50% of NR licenses. Regular draw odds will tank for the regular side of the draw. Please go comment on the task force website. It's only one question and should take less than 5 minutes.
