Looking to put a new scope on my 22-250. Wondering if anybody has any recommendations? All my other set ups are large caliber rifles, never really dove into setups for the lighter calibers. Mostly going to use it for the kids to start shooting and for coyotes.

Just a simple scope or a more advanced one?

A simple 3.5-10 or a 4.5-14x40 Leupold would works quite well. A little bit more advanced would be a 4.5-14x40 CDS from Leupold.

I have had a 6.5-20x50 Leupold on my 22-250 for 30+ years and have never felt a need for a different scope.

I have the 6.5-20x on my .220 AI Swift and it's awesome!

Depends what your budget is. A really good scope for the money is the Burris Fullfield E1 4.5-14x42. It can be found right now on sale for $190. I just got one, but I got mine as a package deal on eBay with a Fullfield II 3-9x40 for $240. I think those are still available on eBay if you want two scopes for the price of one.

Thanks for the input guys. I run Leupolds on all my other rifles. Wasn’t sure what magnification to go with. I’ve never used a Vortex scope, only their spotter, but I know a few guys that like them.

My Salvage Model 12 BVSS has worn a 8.5-25 x 50 Leupold VX III with target dot since it was new. 20+ years. Was expensive even then but has sent many p-dogs on their way.
