Sad story but a hell of a way to go.

Similar story here in SW Colorado. An Oklahoma elk hunter in his 80's has disappeared and has not been found. He went missing in early October and still has not been found. A massive search has located no trace of him. It is pretty rugged country and he got separated from his partners.

I'm with you Dan. I watched my father wither away from cancer at the age of 57. My lifestyle is different than his so I'm hoping I don't have the same fate. I've said many times - if I can live to be 75 and die on top of a mountain watching the sun come up - I'm good. Don't come looking for me - just let the bears take care of me :)

My friend and his dad were bow hunting last year when he had a heart attack and died when they were walking back to camp. He still had his bow in his his hand when he died.
