Buck we took this morning

This is a buck we took this morning. We had been hunting a 170" all day yesterday and he kept giving us the slip. With the rut full on he would move and by the time we got to his location he was gone. It would take a few hours for us to turn him up again a mile or so from where we had bedded him. This morning we went to the same area to try again and found this one. The shooter liked him for the cheater and took him home.

I was about two miles away when I took this. Sorry it's so grainy. This is the buck we where chasing yesterday. Great forks good mass. A solid 170". Cool thing if you can expand and look close on his left side he has a much of brush tangled up in his rack. Invade your having trouble seeing him he is bedded just to the left of the sage brush. You can see his white mask clearly.

I just realized, I haven't actually got to hunt myself this year….except for a doe. Can't wait for this week to hunt blacktails with a muzzleloader!
