Credit Cards Charged for AZ Draw Soon

Well the last day to update your credit card for the AZ elk and antelope draw is Thursday March 12 before 11:59 pm (MST). Typically AZ hits credit cards the day after the credit card update deadline, which makes sense, because they don't want to wait and have invalid cards for the draw. With that said, AZ's computer system has had a way of crashing at the time of deadlines. If all goes well, we could POSSIBLY be seeing credit cards being charged as early as Friday.

In 2013 the update deadline was March 18 and cards started being hit on the 19th.

In 2014 the update deadline was March 9, the site crashed, the update deadline was extended and cards were not hit until March 20.

With that said, I would suspect we will see cards hit anytime between the Friday (13th) and next Friday (20th).

As a reminder, having cell phone text updates of charges on your credit card can make your life a lot more sane when the draws start. I'm using a Capitol One card and usually know within minutes after my card is charged.

Well this is sort of good news. So I MIGHT know if I drew AZ before the New Mexico deadline of March 18th. Sort of sucks because the only way I was going to apply in NM is if I knew for sure that I did not draw AZ where I have a 50/50 shot. So if hits drag out to the 20th this wouldn't help entirely. But nice to know. Thanks much.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been meaning to get my CC info changed but never did until tonight. I don't have much of a chance with only 4 points but you never know.

Failed to draw unit 1 archery with 13. Those 13 will be grossly devalued by the 50/50 change. If I ever burn these so help me I'm done and will just put in for 6 thereafter.

With the changes it kinda helps me I think(4 points) but it sure screws the guys that have been applying for years. I wish it would just stay the same

Reminds me of my ex, the feds & the state in my divorce. Do something like this in private industry and you'd go to jail. But states just whip out some piece of paper that says it's OK, and make themselves feel good. New Hampshire is indeed old school.

Sorry to hear you didn't draw the 1 archery elk tag Zim. Hopefully you will draw your UT or Mt. Emily elk tag this year! I didn't draw my AZ elk tag either with 16 points so I will be in the same "devalued" points boat as you assuming that the proposed 50/50 change is made next year. I was able to burn my 17 antelope points but had to switch to a bow tag to do it...

Got an antelope tag..... either a muzz hunt (1st choice) or an archery hunt (choice 2-5). Wife and I did not get drawn for elk. Our strategy didn't work out for the elk draw. Normally one of us gets an Elk tag.

With this antelope tag it may put a halt on WY antelope draw. We have 4pts going into that state.

What is this 50/50 rule?

The dept has proposed changing the NR draw to allow only 5% of the NR quota to be drawn in the Bonus Pass, leaving the remaining 5% for the 1-2 Pass. That rule change is on hold as is the entire Article One rules process for the dept. The Governor signed a moratorium on all new rules changes for the state.

It would be very nice if this was really enforced through Dec. 31 as it specifies. That may at least force AZG&F to delay the bait-n-switch to 2017, giving us one more chance to burn points. I certainly would be modifying the 2nd choice on my application to units 27 or 3A/C.
