    Whats the best CD and book for elk

    I am new to site and know you guys hate people who jump in and out of the Forum for info and then dissapear never to be seen again. I will try and not be that guy. I am from Tn and been elk hunting twice to state of NM, both unsucessful and currently i am building pts for wyoming. I would just be curious if anyone could help me with the best CD for live elks sounds. I am doing a DYI hunt in NM next month and if you have a favorite elk hunting book what it is as well. As a kid growing up I used tapes of dick Kirby and then moved on to CDs of live turkeys while driving down road for practice.
    I will never be fully prepared but calling isn't much. I have a strong turkey hunting back ground and hoping it pays off a little and a lot of luck.
    Thanks
    TA

    Welcome to the forum! IDK about a CD but Mike Eastmans book Elk Hunting The West has alot of great info in it!
    "Now two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I fee. One is the colors that fly high and proud The red, the white, the blue. The other one's got a rattlesnake With a simple statement made "Don't tread on me" is what it says and I'll take that to my grave. Because this is me. I'm proud to be American and strong in my beliefs. And I've said it before but I'll say it again 'Cause my family's always fought and died to save this land. And a country boy is all I'll ever be."

    The new revisited book is the origional book with some new chapters added to it so I would get the new one.

    For the sounds I actually think You tube is very good.

    Here is good bull elk sounds;
    http://youtu.be/gKnqLGED9SQ

    Here is good cow elk sounds;

    There are others to listen to as well...nothing like hearing the sound straight from an elk. Good luck and have a blast!
