Hello Eastman Forum Members,
I have posted a few time previously but have never really introduced myself. Lived most of my life in S. Calif. but moved to N. Calif. four years ago. Found a great spot for my hobbies of hunting and fishing in Shingle Springs (thirty minutes East of Sacramento and twenty minutes from where gold was discovered.
Taught Physical Education for forty-six years and officiated high school football, basketball, softball, and baseball for thirty-seven years; my whole life has been associated with athletics. Hence, the nickname "Olref"..."NOT OLD Ref"!!!! LOL!!
Have hunted Wyoming for the last five years (1) Deer Areas 131 and 82, (2) Antelope Areas 90, 91, and 92. (3) Elk Area 30. Successful in all except for Elk Area 30.
This year was drawn for a Cow Elk tag in Area 32....have never been there before. Called the Game Warden and Biologist for the area, both said highest rate for success would be during the bow seasoln (all of Sept.). They indicated there were elk in this area but when rifle season opens (all of Oct.) they head for the Wyoming/Colorado border, near Colorado Area 201.
Any help from members who have hunted or just been in Area 32, would greatly be appreciated!!!!
A big THANK YOU to Umpqua Hunter for his help in the past!!!!
Good Luck to all of you during the hunting seasons from Sept. to Nov.
Olref (aka: Doug)
