    Utah Deer

Well I'm not a guy that has information on all of Utah's deer areas so I've never been able to give out any honey holes. With the applications to Utah open right now I thought some of you might like to see these pictures and what units the deer came from. It looks as if the Paunsaugunt unit is not as down as people in Utah are saying.

Nice clacklin! The Paunsaugunt has definitely been recovering.

I think if I ever ran into those last 2 I would just drop my gun, bow, muzzle loader, spear, or whatever I was hunting with and forget I was even hunting!

Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.

Clackling I thought the same thing when I saw those pictures. Everyone says the quality is down but wow I would love to shoot some of those high-quality deer.

Those are some giants for sure. I've never explored Utah all that much but seeing pictures like that make me want to more. The wife and I are hitting one of the resorts South Eastern Utah area in the Mohab area along the Colorado river for some R&R in late June. Kind of makes me wish I'd have picked a place a bit more west in Utah if the deer are recovering like that. Seeing any of the bucks like that would be awesome.

That's a bit deceiving, though, as most of those Paunsaugunt bucks shown are from the Alton CWMU (Color Country Outfitters). You too can hunt there for a pretty price.

So do you know BOHNTR if any of them were taken with public CWMU tags! I was wondering if there was a rub on that article. Are they (Color Country Outfitters) just trying to get some Business? I think I recognize one of the hunters names (Heaton) as being a CWMU operator and it looks like he could be related to the lady that wrote the piece. Did you do any of the measuring BOHNTR, or how are you privy to know they came from the CWMU. I would have assumed they came from the premium LE Paunsaugunt hunt or else I'd assumed they would have labeled it as the Alton premium CWMU.
Even so my cousin had an archery elk tag for Paunsaugunt and there was a fire while he was down there and he saw a good number of 200" deer running into the burned out areas to escape the fire. Obviously since I wasn't there I can't say that he was judging size right, but he was seeing big deer.
