    Hunting South Africa

Just wondering if anyone has hunted or has any info on hunting South Africa? This is on my bucket list along with several others! I'm interested in killing a Gemsbok & a Kudu. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Bryan

Haven't you hunted Africa before? Or am I mistaken? I would love to hunt there as well.

Never been, but I'd like to go sometime in the next 5 years. I plan on attended SCI convention in Dallas this January. There will be lots of good info there. Got a buddy that has went twice cost him a little over $5K both times. He has a whole wall full of cool mounts. Been applying in Texas & NM for Gemsbok for quite a while. If I don't draw soon, I think I'll annie-up & head to Africa!

Super cool. Cost is pretty cheap for being able to take a few animals.

I have a friend who books trips kind of like an agent. Never inquired about prices with him but may be able to save you some money? If your interested ill chat with him about it and get some costs for ya. He is always donating hunts to local wildlife non profit groups for raffle. Im assuming the guide he works with is pretty reasonable? Let me know and ill contact him.

    P.s. Never been

Hardstalk, I'm interested in what you can find out for me. I would like to start planing a hunt for 3-5 years from now. I know to some that sounds like a long ways down the road but time flies! My wife is going with me on this hunt so it will cost me double! So that is another reason to plan well in advance.

    Thanks, Bryan

My dad and mom went to South Africa a few years ago. My dad was the only one that hunted but they both had a blast, was better than they ever thought it would be. My dad decided to have his heads mounted down there as it saved a little bit of money in shipping. If you decide to do that make sure to keep in touch with the taxidermist. He kept in touch and had the guy send him pics of the progress, ended up having him redo some work on his Kudu through what he saw on the pictures. Be aware, $5000 might be for the hunt but there are additional fees like shipping, taxidermy and such. It's also on my bucket list, a Kudu is one of my dream animals.
