It is not a good idea to just shrug and write off the state as an isolated case.

Very, very often what starts in CA spreads across the country. And, CA is after all, 10% of the U.S. population. That's a pretty big bite out of gun ownership.

If you are not financially supporting the NRA, as a hunter, you really need to. This is not something to take lightly just because you don't live in CA.

For the whole state? This is the dumbest thing I ever seen. There is no proof lead bullets killed anything they werent ment to kill. Glad I dont live there anymore. I am headed there tomorrow unfortunately. My .38 and .22-250 are both going with me with lead bullets and I really dont care what they think of it!

The stupidest thing of all is they started with protecting those dumber than rocks Condors from "lead poisoning" from gut piles, then their rational is why not protest all the the animals from the lead.

A little here...a little there, pretty soon they got everything!

I honestly don't know what to do or think about any of this stuff anymore.

Many people in this state, including the majority of people in the state legislature, believe that they can arbitrarily tread all over the rights of another person for any reason, as long as enough people vote for it or it's popular enough.

They don't believe in or even understand the concept that you cannot restrict someone's rights without good cause.

The fact that a good majority of people are completely ignorant about guns and pretty much everything else only makes matters worse because there is no common sense and, more importantly, no inclination to understand what the truth actually is.

Then add in the idiots in positions to influence public opinion, like Morgan Spurlock, who categorically stated in one of his shows that nobody needs an AR-15 for home defense, or Piers Morgan who, despite admitting that he knows absolutely nothing about guns or anything related to them, says that nobody needs an Ar-15, 1,000 rounds of ammunition or 30-round magazines.

As long as this is the situation, the NRA and every other organization representing gun owners in this state can say all they want, they aren't going to do a bloody bit of good because they aren't going to make a dent in how the legislature votes.

The best thing that could happen to this state would be for it to be split in two, east and west, and leave the liberals and their followers to wallow in what they've created.

That's right Hoshour, If you're NOT an NRA member, by all means join. If you are a member get your family members & friends to join...If we don't hang together, we'll hang individually. It seems the Democrats that control California will always be after your guns.
Perhaps what just occurred in Colorado will open some eyes. Maybe not, someone might start a "Grassroots" movement for recall on some of these entrenched democratic Gun Grabbers. What do you think? Any chance?

That's not going to happen here. There are 8 or 9 counties in the state that are hard-core liberal. A Green or other similar party candidate would have a better chance of beating a Democrat in those counties than a Republican or other "conservative" party candidate could ever hope to have.

Those 8 counties also have a healthy majority of the population and the majority of the big-money people - movie stars, etc.

When Gray Davis got re-elected as Governor way back in 2001 or whenever that was, those 8 or 9 counties voted for him, the other 50 or so counties voted for the other guy and Davis still won.

That's why we have the problems that we do in this state.

Heard on the news tonight that Gov. Brown sign most of the gun bills. He did sign the one on banning lead for all hunting ammunition. He vetoed the ban on all semiautomatic rifles with magazines.
