Probably shouldnt say anything but up until this year I had been shootn-em with a 338-378 Wthyby. 265 gr LRX barnes hand loads was right at 3000FPS at muzzle. I think the barometric pressure dropped everytime I shot the gun . Needless to say got tired of the cost and unless they were 400yrds or further it was just devastating for lack of a better term. Seriously the antelope I shot last year was so bad I didnt bring my kid up to him. He was pretty much already field dressed and I wasnt really to happy with myself for that. He ended up going 85 1/8 NET and salvaged most of the meat. So I bought a 300wsm, seemed like a alaround caliber. Would love to have the money to get a 25 of some sort though for the speed goats really dnt need more than that, if it was legal I would hunt em with a .223 personally.
