    Outfitter/Guide for Black Bear?

After the input I received (thanks!) on a previous thread it looks like my best shot at getting a Black Bear is going on a guided hunt (for many reasons).

Do you guys know any Black Bear guides you'd recommend?

I live in Colorado so maybe somewhere around here ... Wyoming, Montana, etc?

I think Idaho offers the best bet for taking a black bear in the western states. Reasonably cheap non-resident license with additional tags available. Numerous color phase bears too. Last time I looked, you could use dogs, and bait. Bear Hunting Magazine has a classified section with a number of listings of black bear outfitters. That is where I would go on an out of state hunt, or Alberta as an international destination.

Idaho has lots of bears. If you don’t have time to bait then I agree a guide is the way to go. Same as already said tags are cheap too.

I have hunted twice with Lionel Talamante on the Jicarilla. Bear and lots of fun both times. We used dogs in am and bait in pm

Dogs in am and bait pm is a very effective way to go.
