    FYI..........

I'm on an extremely limited budget and as a way to get more function out of my Vanguard Alta tripod I made a shooting adapter for it. The stabilizing weight hook on this tripod was modified into a Delrin V from which I shoot. I can flip it to hold my Swarovski 10x42s or flip it to shoot off of once I am in the zone. Vortex here as well. Quick and easy to deploy, light, and very stable for the size. I use it for spotter, camera, and camcorder and have never had an issue in 4 years I've owned it.

Hard to beat the outdoorsmans. I would pair it with the pan head.

I have the Outdoorsmans compact medium and like it very well. I use it or a Promaster 525 depending on the height I need. I want to add a Outdoorsmans tall someday for glassing standing. I have 2 of the Outdoorsmans pan heads, a shooting rest, and window mount adapter I use with the system. Great products. I like being able to use the heads on the window or tripod.
