    One other gun you may consider is a Tikka T3. They are tack drivers and reasonably priced. There are a lot of nice guns out there and it sounds like your plan is solid (letting her decide . That is always the safest bet.

    don't forget the pawn shop i have bought several nice and new guns that way and saved enough to buy good scopes for them

    Never tried one, but the TC Venture is supposed to be really nice in the same price range. I prefer 3 position or tang safetys or else I'd have tried one. If you don't mind the safety the Tikka rifles are excellent also.
