Bow Sight Suggestions For Those Of Us With Glasses!
OK, I'll admit it, I'm getting old! I have worn glasses for the past 40 years for distance. My eyes aren't that bad, but things are definitely sharper with glasses. I do not wear bifocals. I do not need glasses to read either. Here's my problem: I need to wear glasses when hunting, otherwise things would be fuzzy. However, when I wear my glasses, I've just run into the problem where my bow sight is blurry because of the glasses. Take my glasses off - clear sight, fuzzy target! From my guestimate, things start coming into focus really well at about 4 feet away when wearing glasses. (Yeah, I have the issue with blurry sights on my .22 also)!
I know there are a lot of people out there in the same predicament as me - what bow sights are you using that are working? I shoot a Matthew's Z7 Extreme, but I can't remember the manufacturer of my sight - single pin that I slide to change for different distances.
If you us a peep sight...... You May have to Experiment with different size peep sight holes.... And the Best way to do that is go to your local archery shop and keep triing different ones untel it clears up or Helps..... Ill be 44 this year and about 4 years ago thats what I had to do. I ended up with a bigger hole to look thru and it helped..... Hope this Helps you Out and when you do find out what works Please Post would be Curious to find out what worked....
Another after thought. I ran into some other Problems down the road. When I went and got new Glass. My new Glass where rectangle in shape and with smaller lens.My olders ones where round and bigger lens.... What would happen with my bow or shotgun scope when I looked thru them everything got Blurry.... The Angle I was triing to look at was causing me to look thru top part of lens and frame. Went back to older glass with round and bigger lens things cleared up......
Hope this Info Helps........
May not be the cure but you can try a verifier peep.

Thanks. I'll heat to the bow shop and look into the peep thing first (simplest change), and also see what they're thinking. Be nice if the peep works, or the glasses as well!
Verifiers are good but gotta watch them in poor environmental conditions.

If you go the clarifier route look at specialty Archery designs peeps. None better.

I've worn glasses most of my life. I've never had a problem but I did learn something this year. I bought a new bow, Bowtech, and it came with an Apex sight. I don't think they are expensive, but is was what was on the demo bow I shot at the shop and I liked it. It has a round pin protector and the peep the tech put on the string is filled with this at full draw. I don't know if this was intentional and I never noticed it until later. The eye naturally centers the sight, if not you see light between the peep and the outside of the sight. This seems to be working well for me maybe it will for you.
So the son said to me two years ago......"you sure do see a lot more animals and a lot sooner than me with your glasses on".......was told 15 years ago that they didn't make a contact for me.......went to the store this March and low and behold they have one now....I love the contacts now...no fogging up...cleaning or losing them when I sit down to glass. Might wanna give it a try if you haven't already.
