Independence Pass should be closed that time of year so your access to the south portion will be somewhat limited I believe. I've only been in/around 47 during Aug/Sept. Saw a decent bull during...
Eastmans and Western Hunter
Just received mine today. I take mine to work to read and for those times I need to utilize the MRS. I do most of my planning at work. I had to move desks this week and 70% of my stuff was...

Well, I had my mind set on the 11x33 when I found the 16x48 angled on sale for $140 off normal price. So I decided to drop the extra $$. It showed up today so hopefully I'll get a chance to check it...
Thanks for the info everyone. Sneakypete are you using the Vortex High Country tripod with your 11-33 ? I looked through another thread and checked a few of them online.
Guess I should have mentioned Colorado will be backpacking this year and Wyoming is more hunt from truck.
I'm trying to decide which spotter to buy before my next trip to Colorado in September. I'm a a flat lander from TX that makes a weeklong trip the last several years to WY or CO for mule deer or...
Same thing happened to me. My buddy and I came up for antelope a few years back. Been getting points ever since. One of the best all around hunts I've been on.
Great pics ! Good luck to your wife.
Same for me.

My buddy and I came up and hunted antelope a few years back. Every year since we have just been putting in for a point...
We did spot and stalk. First time was a bow hunt and last year was rifle ... both whitetail / hog only. Shot a doe and hog with the rifle.
I've hunted the Matador WMA a few miles north of Paducah. Nice area with plenty of whitetails and mule deer.
Nice pics. Cant wait to get back there in September
Just fyi, it looks like the early season rifle hunters and muzzleloaders may be hunting together this year. If so, it may be a little crowded that week.
Congrats to your wife Woodtick
Some good pics. And you're definitely a lucky guy.
A friend of mine drew second choice as a resident last year. He was lucky. He lives in unit 43. And unless the website is inaccurate it shows 1st choice resident 100% and 15 went to 2nd choice. I'm...
Congrats fellas !
I don't know much about Holy Cross but I've hunted Unit 43/47/471 several times. Never ventured into Maroon Bells but I believe its in Unit 43. It takes zero pts to draw for residents and NR's. A few...
