Impressive... Any chance it was public ground? I'd be happier if you said no :)

Thanks fellas actually no I am not from Anaconda but I hunted and guided elk hunters in the wilderness there for 15 years and just plain love the country before the wolves!!! Acutally it is a piece of private land that we actually have taken 4 muleys in the past 5 years that scored over 180

That is a nice buck Anaconda Pintler. There are a lot of nice mule deer bucks out there in Eastern Montana and some good genetics there. They just need to be able to get mature and live long enough. We used to hunt a big private ranch on the Thomas ranch for Pronghorn out by Alzada in South Eastern Montana. I saw more than one big Mule deer buck out on their ranch while driving around the ranch.

Thanks we are fortunate to have sole access to a large ranch and can let these great deer reach maturity, last fall we seen 9 bucks we know will go 180 so things are looking good with the mild winter and maybe we will get another chance at another one or 2 next fall, the country is very rough and hard to access any other way then horse or walking but lends itself great to glassing, I am convinced that if you let them grow up there are trophy muleys in about every area!
