Ty got his caribou with a 7mm-08 at 296 yards, Bear with a .308 M1A. Exciting for both of us!

Great job, looks like the bugs are out.

Thanks. The bugs were bad but the hunt was great. I'm passionate about getting the young ones out in the field. If I never pull the trigger myself again, that would be okay as long as I can take kids hunting. Ty got his first moose at 10 and has taken another good bull caribou besides the one pictured.

Congrats Ty. Great job getting the youth out there and with such success. Maybe you or Ty could write us a little about the hunt.

Hey there AKaviator my wife and I have been considering moving to AK probably Eagle River area, Palmer, Wasilla. How long have you been a resident? Will you be willing to PM and fill me in on some info only someone living there could know.

I have lived here about 38 years and have loved most minutes of it. I had a career in Fish and Wildlife. I highly recommend a move up, IF you have employment lined up. I will be happy to send a pm this evening.

Hey Bob nice pics, tell Ty congrats. Can I just move my family in with you! LOL That way I wouldn't have to worry about lining up employment! We could start a new reality show "Redneck's migrate North".

You bet! Come on up. We need more Redneck's up here and our families would get along great. I'm not working these days so a "reality show" might be a good thing. Bring your favorite moose gun though.

If I lived up there, I'd be debt for life to a taxidermist! LOL, We are already out of wall space. My wife told me the other day we have more mounts on the wall than pictures. I thought she was being sarcastic, so I counted. She was right! As far as moose gun, all I've got is 7mm rem mag.

A 7mm mag will do just fine!! Careful though, a moose rack takes up a lot of space!

It is one of my favorite rounds! I personally think it is big enough for any game animal in North America. Of course with good shot placement.
